There is a nice article in the December Laurel of Asheville speaking to EVERYDAY nature of Asheville’s River Arts District. I sense the handiwork of Greg Vineyard & Constance Williams here, spreading the word that The River Arts District is not just the Studio Stroll any more! Many of the studios are open 6 or 7 days a week and we are all great places to shop for a local christmas!
The November 2010 River Arts District STUDIO STROLL extravaganza is just around the corner! For the uninitiated, the STUDIO STROLL is when the River Arts District’s 150+ studios are all open to the public at one time! Be astounded at the variety of work, in mediums that range from ceramics, textiles, steel furniture & sculpture, oil, encuastic & other painting mediums, jewelry, glass, paper and more. Bring your walking shoes and your credit cards. You are sure to find something whispering in your ear… “take me home”. There is plenty of parking & the event is free! Do join us!
The River Arts District hosts two Studio Strolls each year. They occur on the second full weekends of June and November. The Studio Strolls are your best opportunity to see ALL the studios that are ever open to the public in one weekend… but be advised… with over 110 artists participating, it will take you all weekend to visit everyone… so plan to be here a while…
Food and Drink are easy to come by as 12 Bones Smokehouse opens on Saturday (the only Saturdays they are ever open), the Wedge Brewing Company has special all day long hours and the Clingman Cafe comes prepared with extra provisions of coffee & deli sandwiches, soups and salads.
Come early, stay late and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Studio Strolls.
