Northern Lights © 2010 By Barb Butler

Three pieces of wonderful weaving have just come off the looms of sutherland Handweaving. “New Mexico Sunset” on the right and “Windows” are both by Karen Donde. These pieces are an arcane pattern known as beiderwand, historically used for coverlets. “New Mexico Sunset” will be featured @ the Blue Ridge Fiber Show, October 2, to November 28, 2010 at the North Carolina Arboretum here in Asheville.
Northern Lights is a commission piece for a client of Barb Butler. Barb likes this one so much, expect to see some scarves perhaps in time for the Fall 2010 Open House.
